Senate
About the Senate
The Representative branch of Student Government affords students the opportunity to make a real difference on our campus. The Senate serves as one of the two Houses in the Representative branch and is comprised of two representatives from each School, who are appointed by their respective Deans. The Senate meets every other week and is a place for students to share ideas, collaborate and work together towards the betterment of the schools of study which comprise our university.
Track Legislation

Senate President
Abby Minnich
Hi! My name is Abby Minnich, and I am the Senate President for the 2024-25 school year! I am a senior in nursing school, which makes me the first nursing student to serve as Senate President! I was originally going to be in the House, but then I was offered a nursing Senator position during my sophomore year (2022-2023) and then continued as a senator during the 2023-2024 school year. I am usually found studying, writing papers, or at the hospital for clinicals. I’m excited to lead the Senate well and serve the student body. If you need anything from me, shoot me an email or stop by the SGA office on the third floor of Montview!
