3 ways to be better with your finances

  1. Know what you are spending

With modern pay methods, it is so easy to swipe or tap or click our way to getting whatever we want. This can be dangerous though if we don’t go back and track our spending. There are bunches of apps, excel files, or old-fashioned reading through your bank statement to bring your spending into perspective. If this isn’t something you commonly do. Start today!

  1. Have a savings plan

For most of us, saving can be one of the most challenging tasks. If we don’t intentionally build up our savings though, when an emergency comes – which it always does – we will be in big trouble! There are tons of ways to save. Do some research and find the best approach for you. You can also reach out to the Center of Financial Literacy here at LU and meet with a financial coach to get help with this.

  1. Continuously evolve your knowledge about finances

This is one area of life that we can all always be improving and exploring new avenues. There are tons of YouTube videos, TikToks, books, blogs, etc. that are constantly being produced to teach us better ways to manage money. One of the newest forms of money exploration is crypto and NFTs. This is a whole new world of money dealings, but as it continues to grow, we can all learn something new. If we aren’t learning we won’t be able to expand our wealth.
