A Guide to On-Campus Housing

Choosing where to live on campus is no easy decision, and with so many different options, it can be difficult knowing which one is best for you. Your dorm room and residence hall are your home for the academic year, so you want to make sure you love where you live. This guide gives you an overview of the different on-campus housing options and the perks of each.

Residential Commons – The Residential Commons, also known as the Commons, is great if you like being around people often. These college dorm rooms house two people and have a bathroom and two closets. Everyone who lives on the Commons loves the community. Having a common room on each floor gives the opportunity for brother and sister dorms to be in closer proximity and know each other better. Living here is great, especially incoming freshman and transfer students, because of the opportunity to meet and connect with other students in a fun and high-energy environment.

The Hill – The Hill is best known for being close to key locations on campus like the dining hall and the student union. Being central to the heart of campus is a huge appeal for those who live here. Dorms on the Hill have the largest rooms and house 2-3 people with a closet for each as well as a community bathroom on the hall. Having the biggest rooms on campus lets students make their rooms feel more like home and gives more space to hang out with friends. Not only that but you also have fire pits and half basketball courts close by where you can chill and have fun!

The Quads – The Quads are close to campus but still have independent-style living with a kitchen and living area shared among five rooms. Living on the Quads gives you the chance to be part of a friendly circle of people and build strong relationships. Students love living here because of the community and accommodating lifestyle it offers while still having the freedom to live more independently.

South Tower – Being an all-female dorm, South Tower creates a close-knit and enjoyable environment where everybody knows everybody. With a traditional hall-style, each house two people with a shared closet and community bathrooms. Being a little farther away on campus is a huge benefit because of the peace and quiet it offers. South Tower is a close group of girls who love doing life together!

The Circle – Located right next to the Commons, the Circle is full of friendly faces who love being around people. Each room houses three people with a closet for each person and community bathrooms on the hall. Those who live here love the vibrant atmosphere that comes with it. While the Circle is known for its affordability, more importantly, it’s known for the sociable community it fosters.

Liberty Mountain Campus East – Set up like an apartment with a full kitchen and common area, those living on Campus East love the perk of feeling like they live in an apartment while still living and being involved on campus. Rooms here house 2-3 people and have a bathroom for each room. While the walk may look far, there is an underground tunnel that leads to Main Campus, making it a much shorter walk than it seems. Campus East provides lots of recreational activities for you and your friends such as David’s Place (a gym), beach volleyball, and a swimming pool.

I absolutely love living in a college dorm because of the close-knit community it has provided for me. While choosing where to live on campus can feel like a stressful decision, know that you will have a great community no matter where you stay on campus. Residential assistants, resident shepherds, and community group leaders will make it their priority to invest in their relationship with you and make sure you’re having a great time at Liberty. We are so excited for you to be a student at Liberty and we can’t wait to see you at move-in day!
