Club Sports at Liberty University

Liberty University has students from all different backgrounds, and with various interests. Liberty is striving to meet those interests with over 40 Club Sports teams.

Currently there are 22 Men’s teams and 19 Women’s teams. These include the more common sports such as volleyball and lacrosse and also a lot of unique sports such as taekwondo and equestrian.

Our Club Sports teams are treated well here at Liberty, especially when it comes to their facilities. The Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre is home to the Liberty Ski and Snowboard team, and offers a state-of-the-art, year-round snowless slope. The archery team practices and competes on a 3-D archery range that spans 10 acres of Liberty Mountain. These are just a couple of the amazing facilities that we have for Club Sports here at Liberty.

Not only does Liberty have a lot of teams and great facilities, but the teams are highly accomplished. The Liberty action shooting team reaped four national titles in 2020 during the Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP) Collegiate National Championships. Division I men’s hockey won the 2020 Eastern States Collegiate Hockey League tournament for the third time in four years.  For the ski and snowboard team, Coleen Leja recently captured two individual USCSA National Championship gold medals in 2020. These are just a few of the many championships and titles that Liberty Club Sports have won recently.

Whether you’re looking for a way to continue to participate in sports that you have played in the past, or you just want something fun to go watch, Liberty Club Sports can offer it to you. Go Flames!
