Glad to be Back!

Hi, there!

If you’re new around here, I’m Abby, a junior Communications major and ASL minor here at LU! I am a returning student blogger, and I am SO PUMPED for this semester! Now that I’ve finished my summer internship and spent some much-needed time with my family, I’m thrilled to be back home in Lynchburg, Virginia.

I spent my summer working as a summer intern at Abilene Baptist Church in Augusta, Georgia. If you’re looking for an opportunity to gain valuable ministry experience within a local church, definitely consider spending your summer at Abilene! I worked hard, played hard, and laughed A LOT. I had the opportunity to help run VBS, Kidz Camp, youth camp, and a summer missions trip. My intern team planned events, taught Sunday School, and even completed a book study together! It was a great summer, and I cultivated friendships that will last a lifetime!

Now that I’m officially back in the ‘Burg (and back in the office!), I’m super excited to continue my classes in my degree program and share my Liberty experience with you! This year I have moved off campus, so I’m now navigating the commuter life (whoop whoop!). I’m also continuing leading a Life Group with the Ascent College Ministry at Thomas Road Baptist Church, and we’re getting ready to launch in just a few weeks! If you’re looking for a church to call home, come check us out!

This is going to be a great year, and we’re just getting started.
