It’s Complicated Week 9 – David Nasser

Overview:

Many times in our lives we are focused on the future. When what we need to do is take time to look back and look at where we are now. We need to make selah a part of our everyday walk not just something we do before we feel a crash coming. We need to be clear in our past and present so we can be hopeful for the future. The enemy wants to cloud your path so you lose vision in your life. Take time for Selahs (pauses) in your life in order to be clear in where God has brought you, has you, and is going to take you. We need Selah moments to allow God to be the lifter of our heads. Deliverance belongs to the Lord.

Verses:

Psalm 3:1-8

1 O Lord, how many are my foes!

Many are rising against me;

2 many are saying of my soul,

“There is no salvation for him in God.” Selah

3 But you, O Lord, are a shield about me,

my glory, and the lifter of my head.

4 I cried aloud to the Lord,

and he answered me from his holy hill. Selah

We need Selah moments.  To allow God to be the “lifter of our heads” to reflect, retune, reawaken, reinvigorate, rejuvenate, repair, replenish, resuscitate, refurbish, revitalize, restore, reinstate, rekindle, etc…

Marination is the same as meditation.

Evaluate the on-ramps and the off-ramps.

Everything that is an engine needs rest and rhythm.

1) Where has God been faithful in your life when you were unfaithful?
2) What do you think God is wanting to clear out of your past?
3) What are the things in your life in the present that you feel God is calling you to focus on to change so you can clear the path for the future?
4) What are the specific things you can do to walk in faith to bring change in your life?  Who are you going to allow to hold you accountable to take these steps?
