Financial support can be a critical piece of your travel experience. Whether you are considering a short-term experience through LU Send and LU Serve or the Internship/Study Abroad program, the cost of travel can be a major barrier to meeting your goals. To help realize your passion for travel and the Great Commission, LU Serve offers biblical principles and strategies for support raising. Learn how to raise funds effectively through these resources!
Support Raising on Campus
Want to fundraise on campus? Ask LU Events to reserve a location and review their tabling guidelines here.
Food?
Guidelines for Vendors:
• A vendor is anyone selling or giving away food outside on Liberty University’s Campus
• All food vendors must be approved by Sodexo before coming on campus.
• Keep in mind, this process can take up to three months.
• Students selling food for a fundraiser may only do so outside the Vines Center after approval; unless there is an event going on that is selling concessions inside the facility.

Want to Table?
• All tabling should provide value to Liberty University students in a measurable way.
• All tabling requests must be approved and scheduled before any group may use the available tabling spots.
• No sales are permitted in academic areas.
• Any audio used at tabling spots should be cognizant of what is going on around them; sound may be asked to be turned down or off.
• Any group using a tabling spot on Liberty University’s campus must stay within the 10ft by 6ft space assigned to them.
• No signs should be hung or fixed to any walls, doors, windows, or other fixtures.
• No doors, fire extinguishers, fire alarms, or exit signs should be blocked by any setup included in any tabling.
• All signage should be free-standing (either on a table or right next to the table on the floor); no writing is allowed on the flooring or walls.
• If food and/or drink is going to be sold or given out for free it must be approved beforehand; please include this information on your initial request.
• Any tabling that solicits must have approval from Career Services before coming on campus.
• Furniture near tabling spots must not be moved.
• External guests that table on campus may do so between 9am and 4pm; after scheduling a specific tabling spot.
• All tabling must be in line with the Liberty Way.

• JFL
• Tilley (North/Green)
Fundraising?
• Tables and other resources will not be provided by Events for an individual student, student group, or Liberty department fundraising unless such fundraising is part of an approved activity of Student Affairs, OSD, or University Events.
• Financial solicitation by students, student groups, or Liberty departments is not permitted during academic classes or in any academic space including the Montview Student Union, Academic Lawn, JF Library, Science Hall, etc.
• Students, student groups, or Liberty departments who solicit funds outside of athletic or other buildings on campus cannot sell or give away non-packaged food such as homemade desserts etc.
• Fundraising in dorms will follow Student Affair’s established policies.
• Outside organizations that seek approval for fundraising or raising awareness of a specific cause on campus will contact:
• LU Serve (Dr. Lew Weider) when fundraising is intended to address local, domestic, and or international spiritual needs.
• Student Affairs (Dr. Mark Hine) when fundraising is intended to address all other needs.
Need To Borrow a Tablecloth for Your Table?
• Tablecloth requests must be made at least 2 days in advance of your event. They are available on a first-come first served basis.
• All tablecloths must be picked up and returned to the Liberty Mountain Conference Center (LMCC) between Monday-Friday 9a-4p.
• You have 24 hours from the time your event ends to return your tablecloths to the LMCC. a. If your event is on a Friday or over a weekend, you must return your tablecloths to the LMCC by the following Monday at 12pm.
• If a tablecloth is not returned or is returned damaged, stained, or with holes, you will be charged a fee of $125 per tablecloth.
• At no time should you attempt to wash or stain treat the tablecloths after your use. All cleaning will be done by our designated dry cleaner. This will ensure consistent quality for the next user.
• The provided tablecloths should not be used on tables that will hold food to avoid staining and damage.

Using Social Media
In today’s fast-paced, online culture, social media is your most important tool for raising awareness about your trip and for garnering support. That’s why it is vitally important that you know how to leverage social media effectively while maintaining a personal relatinoship with your supporters. Support Raising in Church
Next to friends and family, local churches will be the next major line of support. Start with your local church where you are actively involved and the people know your character and heart. Reach out to the pastor or someone on staff you know well and ask them what the best way is to communicate your support needs to the congregation. That person will likely give you a few options ranging from setting up a table in the foyer to presenting on stage during a service.
It is important that you follow the advice of your pastoral staff and raise support in ways that are appropriate for that congregation.
