Description
The Athletic Communications Office provides students who are serious about pursuing careers in sports information, journalism, and public relations with an opportunity to serve Christ while interfacing with the media, opponents, the NCAA, and the fans of the Flames. Participation behind the scenes at various athletic events requires flexibility, dependability and the ability to work under pressure. Participation in the publication of media guides, athletics department website, press releases and schedules increase writing and editing skills. Students will have the opportunity to share Christ in a highly competitive environment and represent Liberty University both on the printed page and in the sports arena.

Athletics Promotion

Description
Football Game Day Staff – This position will assist the Fan Experience and Promotions team with handing out giveaways, promotional items, set-up/break down of events and providing a world-class experience for all fans who attend our events.
Street Team – Promote athletic events and communicate promotions within the residence halls, student body, and community groups. Distribute on-campus marketing materials such as flyers, ground decals, and campus signs in a timely manner. Research community events and make appropriate reservations. Setup tables and serve as Liberty Flames Athletics representatives by distributing promotional items at community and on-campus events. Contact campus groups, vendors, community organizations, recreation leagues, club/local teams etc. to organize promotional events. This is a preapproved position with our department. Interviews are needed to take place prior to being accepted for this position. If you are interested, please reach out to us.
Whenever working a Liberty Athletics event, you must wear Liberty branded gear. If any other article of clothing is branded with another team, you will be asked to change or leave.

Description
Completing CSER for baseball requires students to assist the team in a number of areas. Volunteering for our camps is a vital component. We hold a few youth camps and high school camps throughout the year where students can work with the kids, teach them baseball and educate them on applying Christian values through sport. We also have CSER students who provide help with our facility, whether that be on the field or in the office. This may include assisting with practice, game day operations, etc.

Social Media Manager:
The Liberty University Cheerleading team is looking for assistance managing the team’s social media. This can include capturing photos and videos of various activities: games, approved filming practices, clinics, etc. Creating content (posts and stories) for social media platforms. Post announcements: clinic dates and times, major Liberty cheer updates, games. Create crowd tape for UCA Nationals. Manage accounts (such as posts, direct messages, and overall account appearance), and send out contact information. Prefer to have prior social media experience or understanding of content creation. *Please note this position can also be used as internship hours for designated majors instead of CSER credit*
Operations Manager:
The Liberty University Cheerleading team is looking to add positions to assist with operations for the team. This can include creating itineraries for games, game travel, and clinics. Creating and monitoring inventory for uniforms. Competition registration and facility upkeep. Description
CSER volunteers will help assist with serving guest in our Club Sports Concessions. We have three major locations: LaHaye Ice Center, Baseball, and Indoor Track. Three major opportunities are helping prepare food for customers, taking food to our suites, or being a runner for our cashiers.
Helping to prepare food: We serve several different food options in our stands. A volunteer would help in preparing things like nachos, pretzels, fried foods, and pizza.
Taking food to our suite holders: We have ten suites that order food during hockey games. a volunteer would help transport the suite orders from concessions to each suite.
Runner for cashier: A volunteer would help the cashier get the items that the customer ordered.

Game Day Worker: Experience a behind-the-scenes look at football game day by working with the Flames Club! Student Athlete Flames Connect Contributor: Student-Athlete Flames Connect Contributors have the unique opportunity to foster connections with prior generations of LU athletes for mutual encouragement and to share in spiritual and athletic successes. Description
The Liberty Golf team participates in Christian Service through the Lunch Buddies program in Lynchburg city schools. Our athletes eat lunch with kids from local elementary schools. This gives our athletes the opportunity to build friendships, and provide encouragement in these kid’s lives. We also have CSER volunteers that help out with our practice facility and in the office. This can involve help with practice, inputting stats, etc.

Description
Lunatics is looking for passionate Liberty sports fans who will assist with promoting and executing plans for athletic events to drive in student attendance and help shape the student sections at all games. This position will help build an atmosphere that will give all Liberty athletics teams a home-field advantage. This position may also include graphic design, photography, videography, and keeping up with what’s trending to keep the Lunatics relevant to college students.
You must be present at all major athletic events, and select Olympic sporting events. The position must be approved by the CSER organizer and the Lunatics Director.

Men’s Basketball

Description
The Men’s Basketball Christian Service allows our players the opportunity to minister to our community using their athletic ability as a platform. They participate in local club, school and community events offering positive and encouraging interaction with the people they come in contact with. Student-athletes also host groups and clinics at Liberty, including adult special-needs, underserved youth, and others.

Description
In our CSER, we provide the opportunity for students/ student-athletes to serve through the game of soccer. We have several camps and clinics each year where they can serve high school-aged kids and younger. In this context, they are able to teach soccer and life skills and encourage them wherever they are in life. We also provide our students the opportunity to serve by taking care of facility maintenance and equipment use. Lastly, several of our students help out in managing different game day-related activities surrounding our competitions.
We are also looking for students to help with gameday operations. This could include being a ball boy or helping to coordinate the game setup. We have 7-8 home games a year to take part in.

Description
The Liberty University Mascot Team is looking for students who want to fulfill their Christian Service hours by assisting behind the scenes with various Sparky events, tasks, and projects during the semester. This can include working as a handler, assisting with game-day photo and video coverage, or working on Sparky’s nationals video and props. No experience is necessary, and any required training and apparel will be provided. Sparky Squad members will not be performing in suit but are welcome to participate in the Sparky tryout held each year. Description
At Practice: Women’s Soccer is looking for Exercise Science students who can look at data and explore different ways to prevent injury.
Online: We are looking for students who are able to input our heart rate and GPS practice and game data into a spreadsheet. We use this data to keep the girls healthy and performing at their highest level possible! Marketing majors or Visual Arts students are also wanted to use their creativity to showcase the soccer program. Women’s Soccer is found on Instagram and Twitter and has lofty goals for our organization’s reach to the public.
Game Day Help: We need students who can come to games (we either play Thursday at 6pm or Sunday at 1pm). They will be running to retrieve balls that are kicked out of bounds to hand them to the players to throw them in bounds. They will work together to ensure there is always a ball ready to be played in!

Any other day to day operations required by the staff.
Procedures
Students are expected to work a minimum of 20 hours a semester, however, a commitment of 2+ hours a week (30+ hours) is preferred. We would like workers who can maintain a regular schedule and commit to certain days/times each week in order to provide consistency.

The wrestling team participates in service opportunities such as visiting retirement homes, shoveling snow, trash pick up, working with a Jr. wrestling club and assisting the LCA wrestling team. We also reach out to our local youth and High school wrestling clubs.
