Liberty University Celebrates the 46th Commencement Ceremony
Tassels were turned and cheers were let out as Liberty University honored graduates from the Class of 2019 during the main Commencement ceremony on May 11th. Vice President Mike Pence delivered the keynote address to the graduates and charged them to impact the nation and the world with skills they’ve learned while studying at Liberty. Among those recognized were the thousands of graduates who have served, are serving, or are married to a military service member. Parents were also honored for the pivotal role they play in their student’s lives. It’s becoming a unique feature of each Liberty Commencement to see family members graduating together as siblings, parents and children, husbands and wives received their diplomas together and celebrated their accomplishments.
Doors are Opening Soon at the School of Business
Construction is almost complete on Liberty’s new 78,000-square-foot School of Business!
This three-story structure will serve as the home for the School of Business, which includes 152 programs from the certificate to the doctoral level, as well as centers of excellence focused on entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and cybersecurity.
Students, faculty, staff, and alumni will have access to a stock trading simulation room, a 500-seat auditorium, computer terminals, data centers, a network lab, and presentation-ready conference rooms.
Dr. David Brat, dean of the School of Business, praised the building and its integrated technology in a recent interview: “We have telepresence capability where we can communicate with the rest of the world so our students — both online and residential — will be able to get in a room and talk about entrepreneurship with 50 students in Spain. We can bring in CEOs of major corporations and government officials, and they can be on screens in real time with students.”
Interfacing with the rest of the business world is just the start. Check out the video below and get a sneak peek of what’s in store for our new building.
