Rationale
An integral component of teaching is the ability to understand, design, and evaluate curriculum and its related assessment devices. This course enables the student to investigate recent approaches, theories, and concepts of curriculum design as well as methods and protocols for developing effective assessment tools. Acquiring these skills and information will enable the teacher to become a more effective and efficient educator.

Throughout this course, the student will develop either a specific language course or a TESL language program, based on a case study, a present teaching situation, or one devised by the student. This course or program will be developed piece by piece through the Portfolio Project. The Final Portfolio will be the culmination of all parts of the Portfolio Project as the completed course or program. (CLO: A, C, D, & E)
The student will complete the following Portfolio Project assignments throughout the course:
