Social Workers work with individuals and families in a variety of ways. This course will prepare students for effective social work practice with individuals and families. Students will develop growth in the areas of engagement, assessment, intervention, and evaluation when working with individuals and families. The course also prepares the student with foundational knowledge necessary for effective generalist social work practice.

Discussions are collaborating learning experiences. Therefore, the student will complete 1 Discussion which will enhance students’ learning as they share ideas, perspectives, and experiences with the class.

The student will write a 3–5-page paper demonstrating his/her skills in the preliminary phase of social work in working with a family in a case study.

The student will submit two 10–15 minute videos demonstrating their engagement skills and ending stage of work with a client from a case study. The first video fulfills the requirements for the Triad Interview: Beginning and Engagement Phase Assignment. The second video fulfills the requirements for the Triad Interview: Final Assignment. 

The student will conduct a biopsychosocial spiritual assessment of a family in a case study. 

For this assignment, the student will select a social work theory to use in working with a provided case study. The student must follow the guide provided for the paper format.

The student will complete 4 quizzes in this course. The quizzes will cover the Learn material from the assigned Module: Week. The quizzes will be open-book/open-notes and will contain 20 multiple-choice and true/false questions, The quizzes will have no time limit, and will allow for 2 attempts with the highest attempt counting towards the grade.

For this assignment, students will complete a culturagram and a summary of the assessment tool. The paper must contain 1.5 pages of narrative content, 1 diagram (not included in the 1.5 pages of narrative), and a title and reference page. Students must include at least 2 sources, such as the course texts, the Bible, relevant journal articles, and/or websites. The paper must be in the current APA format. 

Quiz

This quiz covers the Learn material featured in each module of the course. The quiz will be open-book/open-notes and will contain 30 multiple-choice and true/false questions. The quiz will have no time limit, and will allow for 2 attempts with the highest attempt counting towards the grade.
