Rationale
This course is a specific look at how the online world is influencing and changing the individual and the general population. As the shift from face to face conversations change to face time, texting replaces voice interactions, and virtual reality influences the next generation, how will these changes look? This course introduces looks at into the way online interactions affect the psychology of the person and prepare for the potential changes in our society, while providing a deeper understanding of the impact of the digital world’s effect on the individual themselves.

Discussions (8)
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to post a thread in response to the provided prompt for each Discussion. Each thread must include at least 700 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the thread, the student is required to post three unique replies to his or her classmates’ threads. Each reply must include at least 450 words. For each thread, the student must support his or her assertions with at least 3 scholarly citations, including the course textbook and two scholarly journal articles, plus the Bible. The student’s 3 replies must incorporate at least 2 scholarly citations in addition to the course textbook.
Article Review Assignments (4)
The student will write 4 article review papers that demonstrate understanding of the topic addressed. For each review, the student must select 2 articles from scholarly, peer-reviewed journals published within the past five years. Each article review assignment should be 2-3 pages, not including the title and reference pages. The student should utilize current APA format and present the article specifics, outcomes, limitations and connection to his or her specific topic. Articles reviewed will be used in the Research Paper Assignment.
Research Paper: Topic Proposal Assignment
The student will decide on a topic and find references for his or her research paper. The student is required to cite the textbook, Bible, and 6 peer-reviewed journal articles in current APA style in a 1-page proposal. All peer-reviewed articles must report on original research and be published within the last 5 years.
Research Paper: Outline Assignment
The student will submit an outline clearly noting how he or she will be addressing the topic of the paper. The outline should be approximately 3-5 pages, not including the title and reference pages, in current APA formatting (professional standards). The outline should include all resources that the student will cite in his or her final paper (6 articles representing original research, Scripture, and textbook, if applicable), an introduction, and a conclusion. This paper should show the student’s work and progress on this assignment. The student can also include any questions or problems encountered for support or help.
Research Paper Assignment
The student will write a 8–12-page research-based paper in current APA format that focuses on research topic of the student’s own choosing from the provided list or with prior approval. The paper must include at least 8–10 references in addition to the course textbook and the Bible.
