The application of joint intelligence doctrine and architecture for joint warfighting assessments that support military operations.

Students will learn advanced and effective approaches to military intelligence. Strategic, operational, and tactical considerations of military intelligence will be central to the course as students develop an understanding of critical objectives, human factors, effective systems and procedures, the intelligence cycle, cyber and technological variables, operational environments, and leadership of these essential elements.

Video Brief: The Defense of Jisr Al Doreaa-Dream 6 Assignment

The student will provide a video brief between 10-15 minutes answering critical information requirements noted in the assignment (Discussion or Assignment). The video brief must demonstrate the research, analysis, and communication standards for military intelligence professionals noted in class.

Near-Peer Competitor Research Paper Proposal Assignment

The student will select a topic on a near-peer competitor, Russia or China. The student will clearly state the purpose of the final essay i.e. to define a threat, assess a course of action, etc. The student will then discuss the research problem in 50-100 words and include the Bibliography. 

Book Review Assignment

The student will write a 4-5 page Book Review in order to more deeply understand and assess military leadership, a critical component of the outcomes of this course. In the Book Review, the student will need to both identify the author’s thesis as well as evaluate how effectively the author supports it by using specific examples from throughout the book.

Near-Peer Competitor Research Paper Assignment

The student will write a research paper of 12–15 pages, excluding the cover page and bibliography. The final paper should be suitable for presentation at a scholarly conference. The paper must have and develop a clearly-stated thesis.
