Course Description
An extended supervised field experience targeted to enhance teaching skills in the classroom. *Please note, this course is not part of a program leading to eligibility of a Virginia state teaching license (or license in any other state). Individuals seeking to obtain a state teaching license should contact soelicensure@liberty.edu for recommended course options.

Discussion
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the candidate is required to provide a thread in response to the provided prompt for the forum. Each initial thread must be at least 300 words, demonstrate course-related knowledge and include at least one citation in current APA format. In addition to the thread, the candidate is required to reply to two other classmates’ threads. Each reply must be at least 150 words. (CLO: A, B, C, D, E)
Field Experience Assignments (6)
Throughout this course, the candidate is required to complete 300 hours in a field placement. All 300 hours must be documented in order to pass the course. Thus, the field experience is a foundational element in the course assignments. Field Experience-related assignments include:
Field Experience: Placement Verification Assignment
This assignment will include information about the school and the host teacher. It will also include a schedule agreement that must be discussed with the host teacher and signed by the host teacher before submitting. (CLO: A, B, E)
Quiz: Professionalism
This quiz includes 10 true/false questions that ensure the candidate has a clear understanding of what is expected in terms of acting and dressing in a professional manner according to Liberty University standards. This quiz will have a time limit of 30 minutes. (CLO: A, B)
Quiz: CORE Hours (3)
By the assigned modules for these quizzes, the candidate must ensure that all hours up to this point have been recorded and approved of by the host teacher in CORE. The Field Experience Log must be used to track the candidate’s hours throughout the placement. The Field Experience Log is completed by the candidate as they visit the approved placement. The log must be completed in CORE, with all hours approved by the host teacher, by Monday of the assigned module. The candidate will indicate completion of this task by completing the quiz questions. Each quiz will contain 2-5 true/false questions and a 30-minute to 1-hour time limit. (CLO: B)
Field Experience: Learning Summary Assignment
The candidate will complete this assignment based on the questions and prompts provided in the Field Experience: Learning Summary Template and submit the assignment. This assignment must also be added to the candidate’s portfolio in CORE. Each response should be at least 3-5 sentences in length. (CLO: A, B, C)
Field Experience: Preliminary Performance Assessment Assignment
This assignment will be completed by the host teacher to evaluate the candidate’s performance in the placement. This form must be completed by the host teacher in CORE. (CLO: A, B, C, D, E)
Field Experience: Final Performance Assessment Assignment
This assignment will be completed by the host teacher to evaluate the candidate’s performance in the placement. This form must be completed by the host teacher in CORE. (CLO: A, B, C, D, E)
Lesson Assignments (6)
The candidate will complete three weekly teaching lesson plans with the template provided. After each full teaching week (Weeks A-C), the candidate will also complete lesson reflections.
Teaching Week: Lesson Plan Assignments (3)
The candidate will create three assignments using the Teaching Week: Lesson Plans Template provided and submit it to his/her host teacher for evaluation before the lessons will be taught. The host teacher can suggest changes and improvements at that time. The candidate will submit each teaching week lesson plan for evaluation. (CLO: A, B, C, D, E)
Teaching Week: Reflection Assignments (3)
After each teaching week, the candidate will complete these assignments on the Teaching Week: Reflection Template and submit it. Each section’s answer must be at least 5-7 sentences in length. (CLO: A, B, C, E)
Professional Portfolio Assignments (3)
Quiz: Professional Portfolio: Initial Check-In
The candidate will explore the Portfolio template which is located in CORE. The candidate will answer five questions relating to the Portfolio assignment. The candidate is allowed to refer to notes and the textbook at any time during the assessment. The candidate is allowed 30 minutes to choose the correct answers to 5 true/false questions. A single attempt is allowed for this quiz. (CLO: C, E)
Quiz: Professional Portfolio Portfolio: Final Check-In
The candidate will continue uploading and developing previous and current assignments into the CORE portfolio template. The candidate will answer five questions relating to the Professional Portfolio assignment. The candidate is allowed to refer to notes and the textbook at any time during the assessment. The candidate is allowed 30 minutes to choose the correct answers to 5 true/false questions. A single attempt is allowed for this quiz. (CLO: C, E)
Professional Portfolio Assignment
The candidate will create and submit this assignment through CORE. This portfolio will include eight different required sections, including the Header, Resume, Transcript/Degree Completion Plan Audit (DCPA), Field Work, Benchmark Assignments, and the Media Gallery. (CLO: A, B, C, D, E)
The candidate will complete this assignment in CORE. This allows the candidate to identify how they have demonstrated or reflected the dispositions of social responsibility, commitment, reflection, integrity, and professionalism. These dispositions are identified as SCRIP. The justification for each SCRIP disposition is three to five sentences in length. This assignment must be submitted to Canvas and CORE. (CLO: A)
Quiz: Course Overview
The candidate is required to review the assignment instructions and informational documents in the assignments of Learn section of each module in the course. After reviewing the documents, the candidate will complete this quiz. This quiz will contain 10 true/false questions and have a time limit of 30 minutes. (CLO: A)
Quiz: Objective Statement
This quiz covers the article on Bloom’s Taxonomy of Critical Thinking and Writing Effective Learning Objectives. It contains 5 questions: 2 true/false questions and 3 multiple-choice questions. It is limited to 1 hour and allows 1 attempt.
Quiz: Honor Code
This 2-question quiz evaluates the candidate’s integrity regarding the field experience, mentor document submissions, and course assignments. This quiz contains 2 true/false questions and is limited to 1 hour. (CLO: A)

The Exit Survey rates the candidate’s preparation through the overall program experience. The assignment for this quiz is completed in CORE. The quiz contains 1 true/false question and has a time limit of 1 hour. (CLO: A)
