This is the final course for the Master of Arts in Educational Studies program. A research project addressing a current issue in the field of education is required.

Discussions (2)

Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. There will be two Discussions throughout the course. The purpose of Discussions is to generate interaction among candidates in regard to relevant, current course topics. For each Discussion, the candidate is required to post one thread of at least 300 words. The candidate must also post 2 replies of at least 100 words each. (CLO: E)

Course Project Assignments (4)

For this course, the candidate will complete a research-based project that will be developed on information obtained from various sources. Unlike a research paper, the candidate will not only search through resources but will also apply the information collected to the development of the project. There are several assignments throughout the course related to this project.

Course Project: Proposal Assignment

This assignment is the selection of a topic related to the field of education along with a formal written proposal.  The proposal must be submitted using the template provided.  (CLO: B, D)

Course Project: Annotated Bibliography Assignment

The candidate will submit a 4-5-sentence summary of each of the sources they have selected for the course project. A minimum of 10 sources, including at least 3 Biblical integration sources, is required and each must be cited in current APA formatting. (CLO: B, D)

Quiz: Course Project Check-In

The candidate will complete a short quiz on the status of their project. The candidate is not expected to have completed the project at this point. (CLO: B)

Course Project: Final Submission Assignment

The candidate will complete any remaining portion of the project. A references list of all sources must also be included. (CLO: B, D)

Expert Educator Interview and Summary Assignment

The candidate will create 8-10 questions addressing the topic of their project and interview an expert in the field of education. The candidate will provide a written summary and transcript of the discussion that took place in the interview. (CLO: B, D, E)

Portfolio Assignment

The candidate will create a digital portfolio in the form of a presentation, highlighting what they have been working on throughout the program. (CLO: A, D)

Quiz: Course Project Acknowledgment

The candidate will complete an auto-graded quiz acknowledging the expectations of the course project required for this course. (CLO: B)

The candidate will answer questions to acknowledge the expectations of the Portfolio Assignment. (CLO: A)
