Course Description
This course is required of all candidates seeking a doctoral degree in community care and counseling. All candidates must register for the course each semester, including summer, until scheduled defense of the dissertation.

Rationale
Under the direction of a dissertation chair, the doctoral candidate writes a dissertation proposal manuscript in preparation for the dissertation proposal defense.

After reading the Course Syllabus and Student Expectations, the candidate will complete the related checklist found in the Course Overview.
The candidate will post a progress report update in every module. In addition to the thread, the candidate is required to reply to 2 other classmates’ threads. (CLO: A, B, C, D)
Turnitin Proposal Draft Submission Assignment
Prior to submitting the Quiz: Dissertation Submission, candidates will submit their proposals to check the originality of their proposal through Turnitin.
The candidate will complete a quiz that requires the candidate to confirm continually work on the manuscript. Also, the candidate will upload the most recent copy of their manuscript. This upload will not initiate a formal review of the manuscript; however, this manuscript upload will provide a back-up copy of the manuscript, provide evidence of progress within the course, and track progress within the program.
