Public Relations Planning will explore the process of setting goals and establishing measurable outcomes, using communication tools. This course will challenge students to create campaigns and initiatives that will take their public relations expertise to the next level.

To achieve goals, organizations must implement sound public relations planning. The student will be immersed in a systematic strategic process to establish value and purpose in every public relations initiative.

Video Discussion: Introduction

The Video Discussion: Introduction is a video and does not require replies. For the video thread, the student is required to submit a video introducing himself or herself, answering the specific questions provided in the Video Discussion prompt.

Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. For each Discussion, the student will post one thread of at least 400 words, then post two replies of at least 250 words. For each thread, the student must support his or her assertions with at least two scholarly citations and one biblical reference in the current APA format. Any scholarly sources cited must have been published within the last five years. Each reply must have at least 1 scholarly reference.

Drawing on insights from Page and Parnell’s Introduction to Public Relations, the student will discuss the importance of research in the RPIE model. This assignment will be 5-7 pages in length and adhere to current APA format.

The student will develop a detailed public relations strategy for a specific organization or cause of the student’s choice. Each section (R, P, I, E) must be supported and must be at least 2 pages in length, for a total of 8 – 10 pages. The assignment must adhere to current APA format.
