Rationale
Digital audio workstations are at the heart of modern commercial music productions, and all musicians must be capable of using them comfortably in order to participate in the industry. This course will establish a baseline of competency with digital audio workstations, providing the foundation for further coursework and ultimately leading to commercially viable skills.

Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to provide a thread in response to the provided prompt for each discussion. Each thread must be 250–300 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates’ threads. Each reply must be a minimum of 150 words.
The student will submit assignments that demonstrate various skills or procedures in the Pro Tools digital audio workstation. Completing these assignments will require careful attention to teaching material, as well as detailed assignment instructions.
The student will take quizzes related to various modes, hotkeys, and procedures in Pro Tools. Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes, include 7-10 multiple-choice and true/false questions, and have a 1-hour time limit.
