CLED 887 Praxis III: Planning and Design III
Course Description
This course continues the development of the dissertation-in-praxis proposal. Under the supervision of a faculty member, the student will continue to plan and design an approved program, product, or process that serves as an artifact demonstrating and applying the student’s doctoral-level scholarship and professionalism as related to their cognate field of study. This course will focus on developing the third chapter (the strategic plan) of the proposal, the finalization of the proposal and its approval, and the IRB application process.

Rationale
This course is the third in a six-course sequence that leads to the development the Dissertation-in-Praxis. In this course, the student will assemble the proposal comprised of chapter one from CLED885, chapter two from CLED886, and chapter three written in this course. This planning document will be reviewed by the professor and presented to the student’s collaborating organization. Finally, it will go to the IRB for their approval.

This task seeks to enable the student to successfully complete this course and be ready to begin the field-based implementation of the program, process, or product required to fulfill the EdD in Christian Leadership degree program. By completing ten fill-in-the-blank questions with the answer “YES,” the student will affirm their understanding of several expectations and requirements of the Praxis Dissertation project. The intent of this quiz is to eliminate misunderstandings on the part of the student and expedite the completion of the dissertation. This quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 10 fill-in-the-blank questions, and have a 60 minutes time limit.

This quiz will consider the role of logic models in the planning process. It will be comprised of one essay style question. This quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 1 essay question, and have a 3 hour time limit.

This task aims to allow the student to present Dissertation-in-Praxis Proposal in a summative form to the collaborating organization leadership for approval purposes. The student will create an Executive Summary Document to be submitted to the professor for approval input. Guidance will be provided for enhancing the document. This quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 1 true/false and 1 file upload question, and have a 3 hour time limit.

This task allows the student to review the Dissertation-in-Praxis Proposal with the course professor in preparation for a more formal presentation to the leadership of the collaborating organization. The student will create a PowerPoint presentation and then use MS Teams to present the proposal to the professor and fellow coursemates. This quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 1 true/false and 1 file upload question, and have a 3 hour time limit. (CLO: A, B, C)
Quiz
This task allows the student to report all approvals required to begin the field research aspect of the Dissertation-in-Praxis project. Three documents are submitted for this task: the proposal signature page, the organizational permission letter, and the IRB application documentation. This quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 3 file upload questions, and have a 3 hour time limit. (CLO: C)
