No aspect of human functioning is more broken than sexuality. Every client expresses sexuality regardless of the presenting problem. It is imperative that marriage and family counselors as well as clinical mental health counselors understand human sexuality and its impact on family and couple functioning. Human sexuality was endowed upon us as humans. God made both male and female.

Discussions (5)

Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to provide a thread of at least 300 words in response to the provided topic for each discussion along with two 150-200 word replies to their classmates or instructor. Each thread must contain at least 2 scholarly references, and each reply must contain at least 1 scholarly reference. See the assignment instructions for more information. 

The student will write a 6–8-page research paper in current APA format that focuses on the theology of healthy sexual development from a Christian world view. Covered topics must include three sections: Biblical and theological perspectives on healthy sexuality, Healing of sexual wounds, and a Summary of your personal theology of sexuality. The paper must reference at least 8 scholarly resources in addition to the course textbooks and scripture.   

The student will research a specific area of interest in the area of human sexuality or sexual dysfunction and write an 8-10 page paper (not including title page, reference page, or appendix) in current APA style that summarizes the topic, societal and cultural impact of the selected issue, and appropriate clinical and spiritual responses to the issue. The student will cite at least 10 outside scholarly resources. Resources can include books, agencies, treatment centers, etc. See the Assignment Instructions for more information.

Quiz: Final

The student will complete two quizzes for this course. The first quiz will be open-book, and it will contain 20 short-essay questions to complete within 3 hours. The final quiz will be open-book, and it will contain 25 true/false and multiple choice questions to complete within a 1 hour time limit.
