BUSI 460 Advanced Financial Management

Advanced financial management course for those concentrating in the field of finance. The coursework will provide the student a framework for analyzing the financial structure of various organizations, identifying problem or opportunity areas, investigating alternative solutions to such problems or opportunities, and recommending carefully reasoned solutions.

This course is designed to intensify the student’s comprehension of core financial analysis, valuation, capital budgeting, and payout concepts, tools, and technologies related to the corporation, and to introduce new concepts related to short-term and long-term corporate financial planning, mergers & acquisitions, and financial distress.

Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to submit a thread of at least 300 words in response to the provided prompt for each discussion. For each thread, the student must support his/her assertions with at least 2 citations in current APA format. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 classmates’ threads. Each reply must be at least 200 words and cite at least 1 source.

Read & Interact Textbook Assignments (17)

Within this course, students will be required to read and interact with the textbook within the third party platform, McGraw HIll’s Connect SmartBook. Students must complete each reading and item in the textbook in order to earn the points associated with the assigned reading and prior to completing any Homework Assignment.

Birdie Golf, Hybrid Golf Merger Assignment

The student will complete an essay describing how the Bible is related to the topics covered in the course. The essay must be at least 500 words. In addition, at least 4 scholarly sources to substantiate their position (the textbook may be used as 1 source). Sources must be cited in current APA format.

The student will complete quizzes within the third party platform, Connect Plus. Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes and the grade will transfer to Canvas.
