BUSI 313 Foundations of Project Management

From the pyramids to the International Space Station, projects are how ideas become reality. This course examines the foundational elements for effectively managing project in diverse contexts. Students will learn how to lead a project from inception to closure, using data-based solutions to help ensure customer satisfaction.

The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to a holistic and integrative view of project management as well as increase his/her knowledge regarding the role of project management and its tools and techniques. The successful completion of this course will prepare students to begin in-depth studies of the nine knowledge areas of the PMBOK.

Discussions (4)

Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to provide an initial post in response to the provided prompt for each discussion. Each post must be at least 300 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the initial post, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates’ initial post. Each reply must be at least 250 words. Each initial post and two replies must also reference at least 2 peer-reviewed sources and include one instance of Biblical integration.

Project Assignments (4)

The student will complete projects for submission in the assigned modules. Each submission must be clearly marked and organized in a Microsoft Word file. The student will complete these Project Assignments based off of a resource from the course text.

Integration of Faith Assignments (2)

The student will complete Integration of Faith assignments in the assigned modules. Each submission must be at least 500 words, include a current APA title page, and reference at least 2 peer-reviewed sources in current APA format.

Quizzes (4)

Each quiz will cover the Learn material for the assigned Module(s): Week(s). Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 25 multiple-choice and true/false questions, and have a 1-hour time limit.
