After reading the Syllabus and Student Expectations, the student will complete the related checklist found in the Course Overview.

Discussions

Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, each student will post an initial thread of 400-500 words of the assigned Module: Week for each Discussion. In addition, the student must then post 2 replies of 250 words. These are intended to be scholarly dialogues and for each thread, the student must support his/her assertions with proper scholarly support in APA format with sources listed as References at the end of the post.

The purpose of this assignment is to summarize material learned within the Learn section of each Module: Week.

Discussion: Class Introductions

The student must submit a 2–3 minute video introduction. The student may use a multi-media platform of choice to record your video. However, Kaltura is recommended. Specific elements stated within the discussion prompt must be included. This will be a graded assignment. The student must also reply to at least 2 classmates’ introductions. Each reply must contain at least 150 words, including a question or a relevant follow-up response to guide the discussion.

IACRA Registration and FTN Paper Assignment

The student will complete an online Integrated Airman Certification and Rating Application (IACRA) and obtain a Federal Tracking Number (FTN). The student will then write a 1-2 page paper summarizing the FTN process (does not include Title Page and Reference Page).

Quizzes

The quizzes follow the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airmen Certification Standards (ACS) of 60 multiple-choice questions to be completed in less than 120 minutes, an equivalent of 2 minutes per question once the student begins. Each quiz must be completed in one sitting. The quizzes will include questions from content indicated and explained in the video lessons for each week. A calculator and the Airman Knowledge Testing Supplement (AKTS) will be required to take the quizzes. The knowledge required for the quizzes throughout the course is cumulative, designed with the intention to help students gain true understanding of the concepts, avoid rote-memorization, develop the skill of translating aeronautical concepts into real-life impact, and prepare for FAA knowledge testing scenarios.

Quiz: Pre-Final Exam: Practice Part 107 Knowledge Test Preparation

Upon completion of all videos and quizzes from each lesson within each Module: Week, the student will have the opportunity to access one practice test simulating the FAA Part 107 Knowledge Test and best prepare themselves for the final exam.

The pre-final practice exam will follow the Federal Aviation Administration test standards of 60 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 120 minutes. A calculator will be required. Since the main goal is to best prepare students to succeed and earn their Federal Aviation Administration Part 107 Certificate by succeeding at the FAA Unmanned Aircraft General – Small (UAG) Test, each practice test can be accessed and taken as many times as desired to earn the best score. The student’s highest score will be recorded.

Each practice exam will be open-book/open-notes and contain various questions.

Quiz: Final Comprehensive Exam: Part 107 Knowledge Check Preparation

Upon completion of all videos and quizzes from each lesson within each Module: Week, the student will take a final exam simulating the FAA Part 107 Knowledge Test.

The final exam will follow the Federal Aviation Administration test standards and consist of 60 multiple-choice questions. The student will have 120 minutes to complete the exam and only one attempt is allowed. A calculator is recommended.

The final exam will be open-book/open-notes.
