Rationale
Contracts for Sponsored Programs focuses on understanding major aspects of the common law of contracts and statutory variances, including the Uniform Commercial Code. Studying how contracts are formed, negotiated, enforced, modified, and breached provides solid foundational principles that are part of effective and compliant research administration and sponsored program management.

Discussions (3)
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student will complete three (3) discussions assignments to include a thread and replies to at least two classmates’ threads. Each thread must be at least 400 words; each reply must be at least 200 words. These discussions will focus on course-specific topics and will use at least two scholarly sources for the thread and each reply.
Essay Assignments (2)
The student will write two essays on provided topics. Each essay will be 1000-1200 words with a minimum of four scholarly sources, not including the textbook, Bible, or other course materials
Memo Assignments (2)
The student will prepare two memo assignments which require the formal briefing of select cases. These 1-2 page individual case briefs will cover the topics related to the specific course materials for the Modules/Weeks they are assigned in, but will relate to the broader, cumulative study of contracts law. These assignments will reinforce legal writing research, analysis, and writing skills.
Quizzes (2)
The two quizzes will focus on the course materials for the assigned modules. With a one-hour time allotment, all quizzes are open-book/open-note with 20 multiple choice, true/false, and/or short answer questions.
Quiz: Final Exam Cumulative Quiz
The final exam quiz will be cumulative and focus on the course materials for the Modules 1-8. With a two-hour time allotment, this cumulative quiz is open-book/open-note with 40 multiple choice, true/false, and/or short answer questions.
