Although not in business to make money, nonprofit leaders must be familiar with nonprofit accounting standards. This course will discuss non-profit accounting concepts, budgeting, controls, nonprofit transactions and financial statements.

Rationale
Foundational to the degree of Master for Nonprofits is a thorough understanding and wise application of nonprofit principles. Managers of nonprofit organizations need to have a fundamental understanding of financial statements pertaining to nonprofits. This will ensure that these nonprofits will be managed effectively or efficiently to produce long-term success to achieve the missions these organizations set out to accomplish.

Discussions (2)
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student will participate in two (2) Discussions. The student will submit a thread of 400–650 words directly addressing the discussion prompt and submit a meaningful reply of 350–400 words to two (2) classmates’ threads. All posts must contain references to the textbooks and two (2) scholarly journal articles and adhere to current APA format.
Application Paper: Nonprofit Organization Analysis and Evaluation Assignment
The student will complete and submit an application paper. The project requires the analysis and evaluation of a nonprofit organization. The paper must be at least ten (10) pages, reference the textbook or any article from the class and 2 additional scholarly sources, and adhere to current APA format.
Nonprofit Financial Presentation Assignment
The student will complete and submit a 10-15 minute Nonprofit Financial Presentation. The presentation requires the analysis and evaluation of a nonprofit organization. The project must include in-text citations that reference at least 8 scholarly/trade sources, the course textbook, and the Bible, and adhere to current APA format.
MyBusinessCourse Assignments (6)
The student will log into MyBusinessCourse using the direct link located on the MyBusinessCourse Assignment page under the MyBusinessCourse Resources section. Once inside MyBusinessCourse, the student will complete the quiz assigned for the module. There are 6 quizzes the student must complete in MyBusinessCourse. Each quiz will contain 40 multiple-choice and true/false questions. The student will have 3 hours to complete each quiz and one attempt on every quiz.
