Have questions?
Liberty University’s Center for Cyber Excellence — designed to support students pursuing a career in cybersecurity.
With a mission to establish Liberty as the premier location for cybersecurity study, research, and hiring, the Center for Cyber Excellence is committed to preparing you for success in this rapidly growing field.
Cybersecurity professionals are essential to protecting our nation’s infrastructure. With the accelerated growth of technology, virtual threats are becoming more concerning than physical attacks. Civil servants working in cybersecurity jobs across the globe are concerned about our increasing dependence on technology. The more we rely on technology, the greater the threat of a cybersecurity breach and the more professionals with cybersecurity degrees are needed for new jobs. Many industry cybersecurity jobs require or prefer a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and some may require a master’s degree.
There has never been a better time to get started in the cybersecurity field. Give our admissions counselors a call today at (800) 424-9595 for more information about the cybersecurity degree that’s right for you!

The National Cyberwatch Center is an Essential Tool for Students Seeking a Cybersecurity Degree
Liberty University is a member of and supports the National Cyberwatch Center through participation in Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (MACCDC) competitions.
The MACCDC, which is presented by the National CyberWatcher Center, is a special experience for college students, including students seeking cybersecurity degrees with Liberty, where you will be tested on your knowledge and skills competitively. Your participation could be valuable on a résumé and provides a hands-on activity, which is especially valuable for kinesthetic learners.
A team from Liberty participated in the 13th MACCDC Regionals. The team qualified for the regionals on Feb 12, 2018. They went on to compete at the regionals in Laurel, MD, where they took 5th place!
