However, the master’s includes more courses focusing on theory and advanced research methodology. It also emphasizes the professional duties of statisticians and their role as consultants.

Courses in this program provide an in-depth study of the fields of exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis, data mining, and biostatistics as they relate to real-world applications. You’ll explore the complexities of data mining algorithms, software tools, and techniques employed in modern analytics and massive data sets. The selection, application, and evaluation of statistical approaches are also examined in the context of data mining.

Other courses aim to help prepare you in the development and application of statistical reasoning and methods in addressing, analyzing, and solving problems in public health; healthcare; and biomedical, clinical, and population-based research.

You will also complete a diverse range of courses covering a variety of other foundational and advanced topics in the field.
