This course will examine intergovernmental relations (IGR), the interplay between and among American local and state governments and the federal government, and the implications for public administration professionals as they seek to ensure the effective execution of policies and regulations at all levels of governance. The course will address communication, coordination, cooperation, and dispute resolution between the various levels of government.

This course connects studies in intergovernmental relations and intergovernmental management with practical realities of federal, state, and local government practice and provides the student with valuable information and opportunities to apply knowledge of the theories in federalism, intergovernmental relationships between levels of government, and collaborative networks to the practice of managing by federal, state, and local public administrators.

Each thread must be 750 words, demonstrate course-related knowledge and use current APA format. Use only peer reviewed sources in the posts and reply to the peers’ posts.
