Frequently Asked Questions
What does Class Attendance mean?
Attendance includes submitting a required academic assignment (such as the Course Requirements Checklist, an examination, written paper or project, Discussion Board post, or other academic activity) within the first week of a sub-term. For detailed information regarding class attendance, please visit the Liberty policy information webpage and review the information.
How do I find out about promotional offers that I might be eligible for?
If you are eligible to participate in a promotion, please follow the instructions and deadlines found in the promotional email sent to your Liberty email address.
When do drawings for promotional items happen?
Drawings are conducted 1 to 2 weeks after a promotion ends. Although winners are drawn during this time, it could take an additional 2 to 4 weeks for winners to be notified. Attendance in applicable courses is required to receive your prize.
Once winners are selected, an email will be sent to the winner’s Liberty webmail. Instructions to claim your prize will be included in this email.
How do I claim my prize?
Item winners will receive email communication to their Liberty webmail. The email will contain instructions to claim the prize through the Promotion Reward Center or a Gift Reporting Form. Winners must claim the item through the Reward Center or a Gift Reporting Form in order to receive their prize. Failure to claim your item will result in forfeiture of the prize. In addition to claiming the item through the Reward Center or by completing the Gift Reporting Form, you must begin your classes applicable to the promotion. Failure to begin classes will result in forfeiture of the prize.
Appearance and size of items may vary, and the items in the Promotion Reward Center are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
I’m having trouble with the Reward Center. How do I fix it?
Should you experience trouble opening the Reward Center, please try the following steps:
- Ensure the Reward Center is the only internet window open; do not have any other internet tabs or browsers open when attempting to claim your item.
- Try opening the Reward Center in another internet browser and see if that resolves the issue.
- When prompted to log in, be sure your username is entered as your liberty email address (username@liberty.edu) and then enter your Liberty password in the password field.
For any technical issues, please contact the IT Helpdesk at 866-447-2869.
When is a Gift Reporting Form required?
Gift Reporting Forms are required for promotional gift cards or items valued above a certain dollar amount. For tax reporting purposes, a record of Liberty University gifts is necessary. Awards expire prior to the end of each term and are not refundable.
Please note: Amazon gift cards will be taxed.
When will my promotional discount be applied?
Eligibility requirements for a promotional discount will be sent out in a promotional email to your Liberty email address, and the discount will be applied to the account within 1-2 business days of achieving eligibility. Financial Check-In must be completed by the promotion deadline in order to retain the discount.
You can locate the discount on your ASIST account. Once logged into ASIST, select Student > Student Account > Summary of Account. Once here, you may filter by term to see the current term, as well as an account overview of previous semesters.

Who is excluded from receiving promotional discounts?
Some restrictions may apply. Promotional discounts are not stackable with any other Liberty-given benefits, scholarships, discounts, or awards, and cannot be combined with any other offers, including, but not limited to those programs with a specific tuition rate that is lower than the standard rate, Divinity block rate, military tuition discount, the LUO Advantage programs, Corporate Affiliate discount, Canadian discount, and first responder discount. Discount promotions exclude active faculty and staff, military/DoD, DGIA, Continuing Education, and LUOA. Those eligible cannot have any hard holds. Only students who have not previously met the parameters of the promotion are eligible.

Some restrictions may occur for this promotion to apply. The application fee waiver promotions also exclude active faculty and staff, Non-Degree Seeking, DGIA, Continuing Education, military, LUE, and LUOA. What are book dollars, and how do I use them?
Book dollars are a promotional award, and may only be used at Barnes & Noble College and in the semester in which they were awarded. For book dollar promotions, please monitor your Liberty webmail for applicable dates and requirements to qualify. If awarded, the book dollars will be made available for use within 20 days of the sub-term start date and will expire approximately 40 days after the start of classes. A book dollar ID is the same as a book voucher ID.
Please note that tuition awards combined with any grants or scholarship monies may not exceed the cost of tuition according to the General Scholarship Rule.
What is the difference between book dollars and book vouchers?
A book voucher is a charge to your student account that you as the student are responsible for, most commonly used to allow students to use their financial aid credit to pay for their books. Book dollars are institutional aid and most often offered as a promotion to those students who are eligible.
Additionally, because the book voucher is money the student is responsible for, any remaining money will be refunded to your student account at the end of the semester. Any remaining book dollar money will not be refundable and will expire at the end of the semester.
My promotional item arrived damaged. What should I do?
If you receive a promotional item and it is damaged, please email LUOAdvising@liberty.edu to report the damaged product and request that it be replaced.
My promotional apparel is the wrong size. What should I do?
Before items are sent out, winners are required to claim their item by providing their preferred size and mailing address. The item will be sent based on the information provided by the winner, and only after the item is claimed through the Reward Center. Because of the information provided in the Reward Center, the only way an item will be replaced as a result of the wrong size is if you received a size other than what was requested.
