As a teacher, you help create a better world by investing in your students. You strive to create a safe, fun, and effective learning environment so your students can excel. However, if you want to change career paths or gain new skills and knowledge to improve your teaching, you may need to earn a master’s degree. Liberty University offers convenient, online master’s degrees that can help you explore new teaching techniques, add to your teaching licensure, and gain advanced teaching experience.

What kind of education master’s degree do I need?

  • If you are trying to earn your initial teaching licensure – Liberty’s online Master of Arts in Teaching has several grade-level-specific licensure tracks designed to help you gain licensure in the State of Virginia. You can apply for reciprocity in other states.
  • If you have initial licensure and want add-on licensure or an endorsement – Liberty University’s Master of Education (M.Ed.) provides many options for specific add-on licensure tracks or additional initial license areas.
  • If you already have the teaching licensures you need but want new training in specialized areas – Liberty’s Master of Arts (M.A.) in Educational Studies and Master of Education (M.Ed.) offer many online non-licensure tracks that are designed to give you new specialized skills.

You’ll explore educational theories that underlie the learning process as well as real-world teaching methods to help you become a better teacher. You’ll also study the latest education technologies to engage your students in the classroom and the current trends in public, private, and Christian learning institutions. You can train to become a practice-focused educator who holds a valuable, diversified skillset.
