Policies Institutional Agreement
The mission of the Liberty University Online Academy (“LUOA”) is to provide support to parents and guardians in their biblical responsibility to train their children to become Christ-centered men and women with the values, knowledge, and skills essential to impact the world. As the parent/guardian of a student applying to attend LUOA, I understand and agree that:
- LUOA’s curriculum is written from a biblical worldview in accordance with Liberty University’s Doctrinal Position.
- I am the coordinator, communicator, and supervisor of my student’s program of study. I am responsible to motivate and encourage my student to complete the daily work and assignments.
- The non-refundable, non-transferable application fee of $25 per student will be applied to the current application upon enrollment.
- I am the financially responsible party for each student I enroll and agree to pay the tuition in the agreed upon financial arrangement made in the Financial Check-in process for each student. Information about tuition and discounts can be found here.
- LUOA is accredited by COGNIA and ACSI. Transfer of credit from LUOA to another institution is dependent on state and institutional policies.
- The academic year consists of 180 school days. A total of 41 weeks is allowed to complete one school year’s coursework.
- If my student enrolls using unofficial student records, the official records must be provided to LUOA before the end of the academic term. Further, I understand that LUOA will not award credit for completed coursework or provide official student records until the official records have been received from the previous school attended.
- LUOA’s online programs are entirely online. Computers and smart devices that are compatible with any modern web browser should suffice for the vast majority of the student’s needs. More information about minimum requirements, the use of web filters, and software needs, can be found on LUOA’s Technology Recommendations page.
- Computers and internet services are not provided by LUOA. Offline materials may be required to complete coursework. A materials list is provided for each class. Some classes may require additional technology such as a printer, scanner, webcam, and microphone.
- As a private institution, LUOA is exempt from the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). If a student has a previous academic plan, such as an IEP or 504 Plan, I may choose to send in that written plan or a professional diagnosis to the Academic Support Team. LUOA Academic Support Team offers 504 plans to students who qualify, and they are limited in nature. LUOA can NOT modify or change the curriculum.
- I will comply with all applicable policies and procedures, including those policies and procedures related to the enrollment process, tuition and fees, payment plans, withdrawals, and other policies published on LUOA’s website and in the Student Handbook. LUOA reserves the right to update and modify its policies and procedures as needed.
- LUOA admits students of any race, ethnic origin, sex, or nationality. LUOA does not discriminate in employment opportunities or practices on the basis or race, ethnic origin, sex, creed, nationality, age, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law.
By submitting the application, I agree that I have carefully read and understand this agreement, and I agree to all the terms, representations, and statements above.
