Course Description

This history course introduces many new topics and will continue to build on topics learned within Kindergarten History. The students will learn about the lives of leaders in the history of Virginia and their contributions to the Commonwealth. Students will continue to develop basic map skills. They will learn about the basic economic concepts of goods and services, consumers and producers, and economic choices. Students will learn to apply the traits of a responsible citizen and recognize that communities in Virginia have local governments. They will also learn that communities include people who have diverse ethnic origins, customs, and traditions, who make contributions to their communities, and who are united as Americans by common principles. Students will deepen their education through these areas with biblical integration throughout the course.
