Liberty to host Student Leadership Summit ‘Biblical Principles in a Woke World’ Nov. 4-5

Liberty University’s Standing for Freedom Center will host its Student Leadership Summit, “Standing for Freedom: Biblical Principles in a Woke World,” at Thomas Road Baptist Church Nov. 4-5, welcoming more than 25 speakers, including The Daily Wire’s Michael Knowles, “Relatable” host Allie Beth Stuckey, bestselling author Eric Metaxas, and CEO of Babylon Bee Seth Dillon.

The event is open to the public. The summit’s goal is to educate and mobilize Christians to promote biblical values in a secular and hostile culture. A variety of political commentators, pastors, biblical worldview experts, and other faith and social leaders will weigh in on critical national issues facing the Church and the nation, such as religious liberty, wokeness, and freedom of expression.

“The Church has been commissioned to impact culture by standing for biblical truth,” said Ryan Helfenbein, Executive Director of the Standing for Freedom Center. “This is not a time for the Church to be passive. This is a time for the Church to rise as the Bride of Christ to pursue justice, expose and extinguish evil, and spread the gospel to a hurting nation. We hope to inspire and equip the Church to implement this commission in their communities.”

Other speakers slated to participate include former high school football coach Joe Kennedy, who was fired by his school district in Washington for praying silently on the field after games; his case reached the Supreme Court, where he won in June. Lieutenant Governor of North Carolina Mark Robinson, Ralph Reed with the Christian Coalition, and worship leader Sean Feucht are also confirmed speakers.

Summit sponsors such as Alliance Defending Freedom, Students for Life of America, Conservative Partnership Institute, and Seven Weeks Coffee — a pro-life coffee company — will occupy exhibit space on Main Street, the lobby outside the TRBC sanctuary.
