‘Duck Dynasty’ family to celebrate series finale at Liberty Friday

Liberty University will host a “Duck Dynasty” family reunion Convocation on Friday, April 7, featuring several members of the Robertson family, including Uncle Si. The family will discuss their favorite moments on the show, which aired its final episode on March 29 (five years after its premiere). Clips from the series will be shown.

The Convocation will coincide with Liberty’s College For A Weekend, where thousands of high schoolers get a taste of campus life.

The Robertsons, a large Louisiana family known for its bearded patriarchs, own and operate Duck Commander, an outdoor gear supplier specializing in duck calls. Their show has been one of the top-rated shows on television, entertaining American audiences with its wild antics, outdoor adventures, and Christian family values.

Part of last year’s season finale was filmed on Liberty’s campus. It featured John Luke and Mary Kate Robertson, now Liberty sophomores, on a road trip with their family from Louisiana to Lynchburg to drop them off at college. The couple held a watch party on campus when the episode aired.

This will not be the first time members of the Robertson family have taken the stage at Liberty. Willie Robertson, John Luke’s father, addressed students at Commencement last year, as well as at Convocation in 2013. In 2015, Korie and Sadie Robertson encouraged students to live authentically when they were guests at Convocation.
