Liberty Softball Stadium is lit up on a spring night during its inaugural season in 2015.
Kamphuis Field at Liberty Softball Stadium has been voted No. 2 among all NCAA softball stadiums in the nation, behind only Louisiana State University’s Tiger Park, in a fan poll conducted by FloSoftball.com.
Alabama’s Rhoads Stadium was voted third while home stadiums for Tennessee, South Carolina, Baylor, Arkansas, Georgia, and Michigan received honorable mentions.
Liberty Softball Stadium opened March 19, 2015, when the Lady Flames defeated Rider, and was dedicated on April 3, 2015 prior to their 7-3 win over Presbyterian. The field is named after legendary fast pitch softball pitcher Dwayne Kamphuis.
The 1,000-chairback-seat stadium features home, visitor and umpires’ locker rooms, coaches’ offices, indoor batting tunnels, two full bullpens, an expansive athletic training room, and a state-of-the-art press box.
The Lady Flames posted a 13-10 record in their new stadium last season.
