Liberty University’s first two films, “77 Chances” and “Altar Egos,” will be screened for the first time during the annual Cinematic Arts Premiere Weekend.
Liberty University’s Cinematic Arts, Zaki Gordon Center will host its annual Premiere Weekend film festival Labor Day weekend, Sept. 3-5, featuring free screenings of never-before-seen films including two major Christian releases, “War Room,” and “Woodlawn.” It will also debut Liberty’s first two feature film productions, “77 Chances” and “Altar Egos.” Directors or producers will be on hand for a Q&A session following each screening.
The event also includes filmmaker panels, workshops, and breakout sessions with well-known names from both the mainstream and faith markets. This year’s guests include Dan Gordon, screenwriter (“The Hurricane,” “Wyatt Earp”) and director; Stephen Kendrick, producer and writer (“Fireproof,” “Courageous,” “War Room”); Justin Tolley, producer (“Courageous,” “Woodlawn”) and production coordinator (ABC’s “LOST”); Bill Reeves, founder and president of the WTA Group; Kevin Downes, actor and producer (“Courageous,” “Mom’s Night Out,” “Woodlawn”); and Chris Bueno, producer (“Not Today”).
Two major Christian films, “War Room” and “Woodlawn,” will be shown for free during Liberty’s annual film festival.
All events are free and open to the public.
Thursday’s screenings will be “Altar Egos” and “77 Chances” at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., respectively, at Cinemark Movies 10 (Candlers Station Shopping Center).
