Liberty University’s 2015-16 Tower Theater season includes two shows premiering for the first time in Central Virginia — “Sister Act,” and “The Velveteen Rabbit” — along with “Twelfth Night,” “Meet Me In St. Louis,” “Brigadoon,” “Steel Magnolias,” “Beauty and the Beast,” and “Henry V.” Season tickets are now available.
Linda Nell Cooper, department chair and creative director of the theatre arts department, described it as a “heartwarming season” that audiences will enjoy.
“The season is extremely joyful, full of dreams, wishes, hopes, togetherness, especially the connection of family,” she said.
Cooper said that audiences should be familiar with many of this year’s shows, which will contain colorful costumes, sets, lights, and humor.
Since opening in 2010, the Tower Theater has been awarded “Best Live Theater” by Lynchburg Living the last three years. The theater was also voted the No. 1 entertainment venue for live theatre in the Reader’s Choice 2014 Best of the Lynchburg Area list by The News & Advance.
To purchase tickets, visit the Tower Theater website or call the Liberty University Box Office at (434) 582-SEAT (7328) during weekday business hours. On the night of a performance, call the Tower Box Office at (434) 582-2085. Season tickets (which include Alluvion shows) are available until Oct. 2.
