Following the most productive season of his NFL career, Liberty University alumnus Rashad Jennings (’09) signed a four-year free agent contract with the New York Giants on Wednesday, March 12.
The Giants will be the third NFL franchise Jennings has played for. He was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2009 and was with the team for four seasons where he rushed for 944 yards and seven touchdowns in 38 games played. Last year, Jennings inked a free agent contract with the Oakland Raiders where he became the full-time starter at running back after an injury to Darren McFadden. He used the starting role to post career-high numbers, rushing for 733 yards and six touchdowns. Following the season, Jennings was named Raiders.com’s Co-Offensive Player of the Year.
Last month, Jennings joined fellow Flames Football alumnus Mike Brown (’12) of the Jacksonville Jaguars for a series of charitable events on Liberty’s campus.
