Donald Trump: First speaker to be broadcast live to 90,000 Liberty students

Liberty University Chancellor Jerry Falwell, Jr., announced Saturday that Donald Trump’s address to the Liberty University student body on Monday is “the most highly anticipated in the history of our Convocation, and his audience will be the largest ever.”

Convocation is 10-11 a.m. in the Liberty University Vines Center. Trump and Falwell will hold a press conference immediately following Convocation.

“We have never received this amount of positive feedback for a single Convocation speaker,” Falwell said. “The themes of Mr. Trump’s newest book, ‘Time To Get Tough: Making America #1 Again’ obviously resonate with the Liberty community and could make him the most popular Convocation speaker in our history.”

Due to the massive response by the local community, and limited seating in the 10,000-seat Vines Center, Liberty University has made two satellite locations available for the overflow audience. Thousands of additional viewers will be able to watch the event live in the Thomas Road Baptist Church sanctuary and in the Towns Alumni Lecture Hall.

In addition, technological advances will make the event accessible to Liberty’s more than 80,000 online students.

“This speech will be viewed live by the largest number of students in the 40-year history of Liberty University,” Falwell said.

With nearly 100,000 students studying on-campus and online, Liberty University is the largest Christian university in the world. It was founded in 1971 by the Rev. Jerry Falwell. The university hosts more than 80 guest speakers a year of international prominence. Previous speakers have included: Gov. Mitt Romney, President George H.W. Bush, President Ronald Reagan, Senator John McCain, Speaker Newt Gingrich, Billy Graham, Franklin Graham, Luis Palau, Rick Warren, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, Gov. Rick Perry, Ben Stein, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, and Gov. Mike Huckabee.
