Biography

Dr. Kuehmann’s experience includes music education, performance, and publishing. After teaching applied flute for several years, she authored a general music textbook series for Christian schools. Her doctoral work established the foundations in philosophy and learning theory for the Music for Christian Schools series produced by BJU Press. She later became director of SoundForth, a music publishing house now owned by Lorenz. Returning to her home state of Arizona, Dr. Kuehmann taught elementary general music, mariachi, ukulele clubs, and musical theater, becoming Orff certified and attaining National Board certification in early and middle childhood music. She joined the Liberty faculty in 2021 and now teaches graduate courses in music education.
