What’s New at LU

Liberty is excited to welcome United States Marine Corps Major General Jason Q. Bohm as the new dean of the Helms School of Government. With over 34 years of distinguished military service, Major General Bohm brings a wealth of experience and dedication to our University. Recently serving as the Inspector General of the Marine Corps, General Bohm’s career highlights include roles such as Chief of Staff for Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO, Commanding General of the Marine Corps Recruiting Command, and Director of the Marine Corps Legislative Liaison Office. He has participated in numerous operations, including Iraqi Freedom and Inherent Resolve, earning several prestigious decorations. “I look forward to facilitating the success of Liberty’s faculty and staff in developing our students into Christ-centered men and women of honor and character, empowered with the values, knowledge, and skills essential for impacting the world,” Major General Bohm said. LU President Dondi Costin and Provost Scott Hicks expressed their confidence in Major General Bohm’s ability to lead and inspire the next generation of leaders. Read more.

The GI Bill© turns 80

This past June was the 80th anniversary of the GI Bill, a transformative piece of legislation that has opened doors and created opportunities for millions of veterans and their families. Since its inception on June 22, 1944, the GI Bill has been a cornerstone of support for those who have served our nation, providing education, housing, financial benefits, and a path to the American dream.
