Brian Bosché, a 2013 Juris Doctor candidate, has accepted an on-air job for a new show called “For The Record” on Glenn Beck’s TheBlaze TV. The program will be, in Beck’s words, a “60 Minutes replacement” and will focus on quality, hard-hitting journalism.
“It is an amazing opportunity for a Liberty law student to land such a strategically influential job as a media reporter and correspondent for a national newscast with Glenn Beck’s network,” said Mat Staver, dean of Liberty’s law school. “Immediately upon graduation Brian Bosché will be influencing the country through investigative and documentary news stories. I could not be more proud of Brian.”
Soon after graduating in May, Bosché will have
a national television presence delivering long-form investigative pieces and written stories for TheBlaze.com. For him, the opportunity came at the perfect time. Bosché grew up in Roanoke, Virginia and studied broadcast journalism at Virginia Tech. He worked internships in national and local media—including one at the NBC News Washington Bureau during the 2008 Presidential Election. As for his career choice, he said, “My family encouraged me early on—to discover the passion that God knit on my heart. Though I certainly don’t know what’s to come, I’ve known that I was to impact television journalism since I started college.”
As for law school, he came to Liberty University School of Law with a purpose. Bosché wanted to add a legal education to his journalistic skill-set—an often powerful combination. However, he did not want just any legal education. He chose Liberty University because of its foundational approach to teaching law. Reflecting on what has transpired and his acceptance of this opportunity, he said, “God has orchestrated amazing people and opportunities around me. It’s humbling.”
Launched over a year ago, TheBlaze TV now has more than 300,000 subscribers, giving it a paid audience that’s larger than most free cable channels. Satellite company, DISH Network, carries the network on channel 212. Plus, many top cable providers have inquired about adding TheBlaze TV to their line-up.
