Biography:

 

After graduating from Liberty University School of Law in 2017, Derek Green returned to the law school in 2021 to serve as Associate Director of Employer & Student Services. Since returning, he has also served as a Negotiations Coach for the law school’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Board and an adjunct faculty for Lawyering Skills IV.

 

Derek Green earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Professional Accountancy from Illinois State University in 2014 before attending Liberty University School of Law, where he graduated in 2017. While in law school, he was actively involved in several organizations, including the Business Transactions Law Society, Student Bar Association, and Alternative Dispute Resolution Board, as well as serving as a competitor of the negotiations team and as MC of the 2017 Barristers’ Ball. As a competitor for the negotiations team, Derek won the 2016 Fordham Law National Basketball Negotiation Competition.

 

After graduating law school, Derek Green served as a Securities Enforcement Attorney with the Missouri Secretary of State’s Office from 2017-2018, where he oversaw orders totaling over $11.8 million in restitution, civil penalties, and other costs. He then served as a Title IX Investigator, before returning to Liberty University as a Career Coach from 2019-2020, advising pre-law, business, music, theater, and undecided students. In addition to these roles, Derek has provided estate planning services since 2017 and securities litigation consulting services since 2018.

 

After graduating law school in 2017 and while employed, Derek became a Certified Career Services Provider, certified Civil Rights Investigator, and earned a certificate in NCAA Collegiate Compliance. Derek has also maintained a Missouri law license since passing the bar exam in July 2017.
