The Ehrhorn Law Library has an excellent collection of legal materials that support legal scholarship rooted in the Western Legal Tradition. These materials are available to attorneys, judges, and our alumni.
The Library circulation staff are available for assistance Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Who Can Borrow Books and Materials?
- Liberty University School of Law Alumni
- Members of the Bar; Virginia registered corporations, law firms, and other recognized entities can exercise the above borrowing privilege. In the case of corporations, law firms, and other recognized entities such borrowing privilege can be exercised through its duly accredited representative(s).
- Members of the judiciary. All serving or retired judges, serving or retired magistrates can exercise the above borrowing privilege in person or through their accredited representatives. In the case of serving judicial officers, such privilege can be exercised through their clerks or other staff.
- Government officials. Current government officials (federal, state, or local) and elected officials (federal, state, or local) can exercise the above borrowing privilege in person or through their duly authorized representatives.
Borrowing Rules
- Acceptable forms of identification: driver’s license or bar admission card
- Loan limit is 4 items at a time.

Borrower Privilege
To be eligible to borrow books, CDs, DVDs and other library materials, Library staff will create a user profile for you in Alma, our integrated library system. Borrowing privilege is solely for the use of the person registered and is not transferable. However, borrowing can be effected through the use of a proxy that is approved by the registered user.
Study Zones
There are different study zones in the library depicting different permissible noise limits. Ask Circulation Desk staff for the zone or accommodation that best meets your needs or preference.
Loan Periods
Unless prior authorization has been granted, loan periods are 5 working days (excluding weekends). Loans are renewable for an additional 5 days. Borrowed materials must be duly returned to the Law Library as the Library is unable to pick up materials from patron’s place of business.
