Four students awarded Fulbright Grants

Liberty University has announced four finalists in the Fulbright U.S. Student Program for the 2024-25 academic year.

Olivia Mott (’24) will work as an English teaching assistant in Turkey; Sophia Jantomaso (’24) will serve as an English teaching assistant in Argentina; Sadie DeShon (’24) will be an English teaching assistant at Obchodná Akadémia (Business Academy) in Senica, Slovakia; and David Walker (’22), who is pursuing a master’s in global studies, will serve as an English teaching assistant in Cambodia where he plans to collaborate with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs Youth to advocate for the rights of those affected by disabilities worldwide. Social studies education graduate Asha Gillette (’22) was named as a Fulbright alternate to Colombia.

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program is a cultural exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government that provides opportunities to research and study internationally. The program operates in over 140 countries. Recipients are selected on the basis of academic and professional achievement as well as record of service and leadership potential in their respective fields. Finalists pursue graduate study, conduct research, or teach English abroad.
