
Qualtrics – Surveys & Analysis Tool
Qualtrics is Liberty University’s approved web-based survey software tool. It allows users to create, edit, share, and send surveys and provides reports based on the results. Liberty University researchers planning to conduct official research to LU students, faculty, and/or staff are required to use Qualtrics.
Permissions & Training
- Submit a Ticket
- The appointed Division Administrator (DA) must submit a Qualtrics Permissions HelpDesk ticket requesting for users to be granted Group Member (GM) or Student access to Qualtrics.
- Users cannot self-request permissions to Qualtrics. Only a DA may approve Qualtrics permissions for a user.
- If you are unsure who your Qualtrics Division Administrator may be, please reach out to ITTraining@liberty.edu.
- If there is no DA for a department, the respective Dean or Director of the department must submit a HelpDesk ticket appointing one for their department.
- Note: Please provide the LU usernames of all individuals who need access to Qualtrics.
- Review Content in Online Course
- After a ticket has been submitted and approved, users will be enrolled in the Qualtrics online training course. They must:
- Review the policy and procedure documentation.
- Watch the training videos.
- After a ticket has been submitted and approved, users will be enrolled in the Qualtrics online training course. They must:
- Complete the Certification Quiz
- Once users complete the Qualtrics certification Quiz with a score of 80% or higher, their ticket will be processed within 1-3 business days.
Qualtrics Roles
- Division Administrator (DA):
- The individual(s) responsible for administrating a Qualtrics division for a department (i.e. School of Education, Finance, etc.). The DA is responsible for:
- Activating / Approving Surveys for their department within Qualtrics.
- Submitting Qualtrics Permissions HelpDesk tickets if users need to be added or removed from their Qualtrics division.
- The individual(s) responsible for administrating a Qualtrics division for a department (i.e. School of Education, Finance, etc.). The DA is responsible for:
- Group Member (GM):
- Faculty/Employees who are authorized to be included in the division by their Division Administrator. GM’s can:
- Create, edit, and collaborate or share surveys.
- Distribute (send) and view results on surveys.
- Note: Group Members cannot activate or approve surveys. Only a DA can activate or approve surveys.
- Faculty/Employees who are authorized to be included in the division by their Division Administrator. GM’s can:
- Student:
- Students who are authorized to be included in the division by their Division Administrator. Students can:
- Create, edit, and collaborate or share surveys.

- Reviewer:
- Any Liberty user can log into Qualtrics to create an account with their Liberty username and password.
- Reviewers can only view surveys and reports that have been shared with them.
- Reviewers cannot create surveys.
- Any Liberty user can log into Qualtrics to create an account with their Liberty username and password.
