Liberty University’s Information Services (IS) department is dedicated to providing technology support for all services, products, and projects across campus. In order to better serve our university community, IS formed Liberty’s first Student Technology Council (STC) in the fall of 2015. STC was created to bridge the gap between students and Liberty IT, fostering a collaborative environment where students actively shape the university’s technology landscape. STC meets several times a semester to preview and review new and upcoming technology, present innovative ideas to IS leadership, and provide feedback on existing university technology.

STC has influenced many technology improvements across campus. Some of STC’s most recent highlights include:

More access points added around campus to improve wireless connectivity and coverage across campus.

Updated myLU to include a dark mode option for easier accessibility, increased battery life on mobile devices, and reduction of user eye strain.

Enhanced myLU experience with increased functionality and fewer technical glitches.

Smoother Financial Check-In process with an upgraded user-interface.
