What is a job profile?

A job profile contains all pertinent information about the position, including the classification code, duties and responsibilities, pay rate type, and qualifications for the position. A job profile can be applied to one specific type of position or apply to multiple positions.

Why is a job profile important?

A job profile defines important aspects of a position, such as whether or not the position is benefited and how that employee is paid (hourly or salary). A job profile must always align with a position.

Job Profile Requests

If a new job profile is needed, or if edits to an existing job profile are needed, a ServiceNow ticket has to be submitted. Under the Human Resources catalog section of ServiceNow, select “HR Job Profile Request”.

A job description must always be attached to your ticket submission, for both edits and new requests. Please know that edits to existing job profiles will be applied to all current incumbents of that job profile.

Viewing Job Profiles

Job Profiles can be viewed in Workday by using the “Find Job Profile” report. Search this report name in the search bar of Workday and select the blue report.

To look for a specific job profile, search a few key words of the job title. In Workday, “less is more” and searching a few key letters will return better results. If your search does not return the job profile you are looking for, a new job profile may need to be created to fulfill this need.
