Biography

Kristin Mossé is a Liberty University graduate who went on to complete her graduate degree at Virginia Commonwealth University. Kristin comes back to Liberty University with five years of experience at the Virginia Department of Forensic Science (VDFS) Central Laboratory. While at the VDFS, Kristin served in several roles as a Graduate Student Intern for her graduate directed research, a Forensic Administrative Specialist III with the Historic Case File Project, a Forensic Laboratory Specialist II with the Forensic Biology Section, and a DNA Data Bank Analyst with the Convicted Offender/Arrestee Database Section. Kristin believes that while a book can teach the student all of the knowledge they need to know in order to understand how a concept works, it’s through critical thinking and hands-on experience that a student can learn how to apply that knowledge to actually perform the work that the concept embodies.

Despite what culture and media may suggest, forensic science is not like the TV shows even if a few may get some aspects right. When it comes to the field of forensic science, there is information that is only privy to those that have worked in the field as not everything is public knowledge (such as SOPs, documented training programs, etc). As a professional in the forensic science field, Kristin hopes to convey her unique knowledge through her experiences in the forensic science field as well as past research.
