How to Report Other Accident or Incident
Student Accidental Injuries
After notifying the LUPD – Liberty University Police Department – at (434) 592-3911 when medical attention is required, residential students may file claims for accidental injuries through AG Administrators. Get more information on the Liberty University Student Accident program.
Campus Guest Accidents and Injuries
Should a guest to the Liberty University campus suffer an injury requiring medical attention they should call (434) 592-3911 from their cell or other phone (or just dial 3911 from any Liberty phone) to report the incident.
Other Claims and Incidents
- Staff and Faculty Work Related Injuries–Staff and Faculty member who are injured or become ill as a result of their job are required to notify their supervisor or manager to report the injury or illness.
- In case of emergency, Liberty’s Police Department should be contacted first with the notification of the supervisor of manager being made within 24 hours. For emergencies, dial 3911 from any Liberty University phone or (434) 592-3911 from any cell or off-campus phone. Pre-programming your phone with this number (including area code) will save time during an emergency.
- Human resources requires the employee to complete a workers compensation incident form in order put our workers compensation administrator on notice of the work related injury or illness.
- Automobile Accidents and Incidents
- On campus automobile accidents should first be reported to Liberty’s Police Department. For emergencies, dial 3911 from any Liberty University phone or (434) 592-3911 from any cell or off-campus phone. Pre-programming your phone with this number (including area code) will save time during an emergency.
- Off Campus automobile accidents should be report to the the state or Local police having jurisdiction. In most cases dialing 911 from your cell phone will connect you to a Public Safety Access Point (PSAP) receiving emergency calls for the state, county, or town, in which you are located. According to Verizon most PSAP transfer calls or dispatch a responder nearest to the emergency.
- For Automobile accidents involving university vehicles, first reported should be made to your supervisor or manager who will then contact Transportation at (434) 592-3248. Transportation will then report the damage to the Office of Risk Management for consideration under the university’s insurance policies.
- All other automobile accidents and incidents for rental vehicles and other university related business should be reported to the University Safety Program Manager at (434) 592-4846.
- Property Damage

- Property damage (Electrical, Fire, Water, or Wind Storm), should first be reported to your supervisor or manager who will then contact Facilities Management at (434)592-3500. Facilities Management will then report the damage to the Office of Risk Management for consideration under the university’s insurance policies.
